  Biography

Daryl Kelly was born in 1982 on the small island of Barbados. As a young child he moved to the seaside town of Southend-On-Sea in the United Kingdom, where he lived and studied until the age of 18. At that age, he and his family migrated back to Barbados to live permanently.

Realising his passion for painting at a relatively young age allowed him to take advantage of the transition from the classical methods of painting taught in the UK to the vibrant and truly expressive art world of the Caribbean. Diving straight into his Fine Art Degree at Barbados Community College he was met by such celebrated Caribbean artists as Stanley Greaves and Dennis DeCaries and with a diverse palette of Caribbean national's on the teacher's board he was now being exposed to a blend of Jamaican, Trinidadian, Guyanese, Cuban and of course Bajan influences which we now see so evident in his current works.

After leaving college he pursued his creative path concentrating on colour, composition and an unmistakable desire to develop his own 'artistic license' which now clearly defines a Daryl Kelly painting.

With a whimsical theme, extravaganza of colour and characteristic choice of subject matter, Daryl has enjoyed a short but exciting career as a Fine Artist. Exhibiting in local and international galleries and undertaking exclusive private commission work for the rich and famous and for such well known celebrities as Sir Cliff Richards.
